Students from Sir John Thursby Community College took over the running of the Holiday Inn Express for a day as a pilot project with recruitment company Positive Footprints and their Job Junction campaign, introducing young school-age people to the world of work.
We researched this project and believed we had a unique story that could attract widespread media attention. Starboard Hotels, owners of the Holiday Inn, retain a London pr company who claimed they could achieve coverage on BBC Radio 4 Today programme, BBC Breakfast and others. Reluctantly, we left those areas to them and concentrated on regional coverage.
This was a mistake Predictably, they achieved nothing – just one poorly written press release which didn’t appear anywhere. We did rather better.
Substantial regional and national coverage within TV, radio, print and web based media including:
- BBC Radio 4 You & Yours
- BBC Radio Manchester
- BBC Radio Lancashire.
- BBC TV School Report
- BBC TV North West Tonight
In excess of 2.32m people across the UK read, saw or listened to this story, excluding web based and social media coverage.
Total AVE: in excess of £105,000.
